Assembly Program

Kennecott’s assembly program aims to educate children about the importance of mining and its relationship to sustainable development. This program is designed to educate children — through fun, interactive and engaging activities — that mining is a key contributor to the society we live in today.

Elementary School Program: (forth- sixth grade)
20-30 minutes long
  • Opening to the children. “Have you used anything that was mined today?”
  • “Do you know what mining is?”
  • Video Visitor Center
  • Show the various products that come from each stage in mining
  • I am a miner (breaking the stereotype)
  • Fun handouts to bring home
  • Q&A
