Roasted molybdenite concentrate
Molybdenum is highly versatile as an alloying element in steel. It enhances strength, hardenability, toughness, weldability, elevated temperature strength, and corrosion resistance of steel. Molybdenum has one of the highest melting points and lowest thermal expansions of any metal. These unique properties make molybdenum the material of choice in a variety of high-tech and demanding applications.
We produce molybdenum as a by-product of our copper deposits in the Bingham Canyon Mine near Salt Lake City, Utah. Our molybdenum is milled and floated at the Copperton Concentrator and shipped to roasters around the world to produce a roasted molybdenite concentrate or moly oxide. We package our product to meet our customers’ needs and warehouse it in various locations. We sell our moly oxide as a powder or briquette.
